“Innovative Generation, Employable Nation” :19th Convocation of COSMO
We have proudly held our 19th Convocation Ceremony at The Empire Brunei, celebrating the graduation of 478 learning partners who have completed their courses in Information Technology, Business, and Creative Media.
The convocation was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health, Ministry of Health Brunei Darussalam
“Our convocation theme this year, “Innovative Generation, Employable Nation”, reflects COSMO’s continued proactive efforts in producing quality, competitive, and employable graduates. To ensure our learning partners are ready for the workforce, COSMO is helping them to be employed through several initiatives” said by Dr. Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Latip, Executive Chairman of Cosmopolitan College during his speech
During the event, City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) was also launched. This strategic addition to COSMO’s course offerings is designed to directly address the growing requirement for certified safety personnel across high-growth sectors in Brunei and globally.
This internationally recognized qualification will empower learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to conduct effective workplace risk assessments, implement safety protocols, and ensure compliance with the regulatory framework set by the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA). This course is recognized by SHENA and accredited by the BDNAC Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council, Ministry of Education.
“In today’s globalized era, success relies not only on obtaining a qualification but also on acquiring essential soft skills. Through ECA (Extra-Curricular Activities) and CCA (Co-Curricular Activities) learning, COSMO instills crucial skills such as communication, leadership, critical thinking, and proactiveness, which complement the academic achievements of our graduates. I extend my highest congratulations on your achievements, with prayers for continued success in whatever field you pursue. I also hope that graduates will exhibit excellent values in terms of personality, social interaction, and work ethics” said by Dr. Haji Abdul Aziz Latip.
COSMO learning partners have been actively involved in leading module tasks, with successful events like COSMO Wonderday, COSMO Spark, and InnovateIT Day. They have also participated in the celebration of Brunei Youth Day, showcasing AI (Artificial Intelligence) & VR (Virtual Reality) projects , and Creative Media Learning Partners collaborated with the Indonesia Embassy for Photography & Videography.
COSMO remains committed to continuous learning, market expansion, and holistic education. In line with this commitment, COSMO have recently achieved the following milestones:
- Launched the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations—expanding our academic offerings to meet industry needs.
- Introduced the COSMO Certified Program (CCP)—a new suite of short courses designed to support lifelong learning, upskilling, and reskilling.
- Rolled out YGC (Your Global Campus)—online learning platform for international learners, fostering global collaboration and cultural exchange.
- Established Sports Connect—a new subsidiary under Cosmopolitan College that serves as a nationwide digital sports broadcasting network.
In an era that values innovation and technology, graduates are advised to continuously improve themselves, stay updated with the current technological developments, and enhance their knowledge to support the national vision (Wawasan 2035).
The event concluded with a showcase of innovative projects by the learning partners such as Sports Digital Broadcasting, Machine Learning POS System, Smart Retail Innovation for Modern Businesses and NextGen Safety: Brunei Towards A Safer Working Environment by the School of Logistics and Safety

Nurul Hafezah Binti Junaidi, HND in Creative Media Production graduate received the “COSMO GOLD AWARD” and mentioned in her speech “Standing here today, I reflect on the path that brought me here. Being a working student, an eldest daughter, a wife, and a mother of two little kids, while also pursuing my studies, was not an easy journey. There were days when exhaustion felt overwhelming from sleepless nights and the need to manage my time between work responsibilities, family commitments, and assignments deadlines.
When we have a clear purpose and a strong will, We Are Capable Of Achieving Far More Than What We Imagine, As Long As You Want It And The Willingness To Keep Learning. As graduates of Cosmopolitan College, we now carry the responsibility to use our knowledge and skills to contribute positively to our community and our nation towards Wawasan 2035”

Academic Excellence Award Pearson BTEC International Level 3 in Creative Media Production
“During my time at COSMO, I learned to step out of my comfort zone. I constantly challenged myself because I did not want to remain stuck in a cycle of regret. With time, I began to overcome my fears and express myself more openly. Now, I enjoy doing photography, videography, graphic design, basic animation, and digital illustration. During my studies, I did various roles—such as being a producer, director, camerawoman, and an editor for a short film project.”
During my internship, I have worked various marketing and media professionals, I have learned so much during this time especially in graphic design, videography, and short animation production. Through these experiences, I learned to take risks and face challenges with a new mindset. I replaced the thought of “I’m too nervous, what if I fail?” with “I WILL DO IT.” YES! I CAN DO THIS!
