COSMO goes Green!

On it’s 3rd year, Green Day programme runs in selected secondary schools across Brunei in partnership with Curious Mind Brunei. Green Day is one of the initiatives of COSMO that aims to bring environmental awareness among the youth.

COSMO aims to conduct engaging activities and promote the importance of environmental sustainability and showing the students how small, everyday actions can contribute to meaningful change.

At each school, students were introduced to inspiring speakers who shared their experiences and knowledge on pressing environmental issues. These sessions encouraged students to think critically about how their own choices can have a positive impact on the world around them. The speakers’ stories created an engaging platform for discussion, sparking fresh ideas on how young people can take part in protecting the planet.

A highlight of the programme so far has been the introduction of wearable arts made from upcycled materials. This activity demonstrated how sustainability can be creative and innovative, transforming items that might otherwise be discarded into new and striking designs. Students responded enthusiastically, seeing first-hand that reducing waste can also be an opportunity for artistic expression and personal creativity.

The response from schools and students has been extremely positive. Many students expressed excitement about the opportunity to learn in such a hands-on and engaging way, while teachers welcomed COSMO’s efforts to support national goals for environmental education.

COSMO is excited to continue facilitating Green Day throughout the year, with more schools scheduled to be part of the programme in the coming months. By reaching young people across Brunei, COSMO hopes to nurture a generation that is not only aware of sustainability but also empowered to put it into practice. Through Green Day, COSMO continues to strengthen its role as a college committed to education that goes beyond the classroom—fostering creativity, responsibility, and environmental awareness in the next generation of leaders.
